What is Factur-X?
Factur-X is the French (and ZUGFeRD German) hybrid e-invoice format: a normal PDF with a machine-readable XML file embedded inside for tax portals and accounting software. Since 1 September 2026 French businesses must be able to receive e-invoices.
Is my invoice uploaded anywhere?
No. The XML is extracted and parsed entirely in your browser. Your vendor's and your financial data never leave your device — helpful for RGPD/GDPR.
The tool says no XML was found — why?
The file is a plain PDF with no embedded e-invoice data, so it is not a Factur-X e-invoice. A compliant Factur-X PDF contains a factur-x.xml attachment.
Does it work with ZUGFeRD?
Yes — ZUGFeRD is the same UN/CEFACT CII standard; the reader detects both factur-x.xml and zugferd-invoice.xml.
